A tour of Napoli cannot be completed without a visit to the National Archeology Museum. The Museum is the home of many artifacts discovered from the excavations of Pompeii. Therefore, it is one of the best places in the world to admire ancient Greek and Roman art. The Museum was founded in 1816 when the King of Napoli Ferdinand of Bourbon moved his extensive collections into the current site. Get ready for the colossal marble sculptures and Roman paintings.

For this tour, we selected our four favorite sections of the museum:
- The Galleria Farnese, home of monumental Hellenistic sculptures such as the iconic Farnese Hercules;
- The Sundial Hall, with an ancient sundial and 18th-century frescos;
- The Mosaics section, where you can see the most beautiful pieces of mosaics found in Pompeii and Herculaneum, such as the gargantuan “Alexander Mosaic”;
- The Roman frescos, an actual sneak peek into the pictorial taste of Romans around 1st century B.C. Delicate paintings such as “Sapphus” or the “Three Graces” will undoubtedly surprise you.
