Cooking class in Sorrento, limoncello tasting, and walking tour!
Located on one of the world’s most impressive and scenic coastlines, Sorrento has magical views of the Bay of Naples, Capri, and Ischia. In Sorrento, you will find rolling hills, rugged coastline, and crystal clear blue waters, but also a buzzing Italian lifestyle, mouth-watering food, and, of course, the best Limoncello.
This tour is for the curious and for the gourmand, combining the best sightseen of Sorrento, history, and a wonderful cooking class with our Chef Carmen. The tour is also available in the afternoon or in the evening.
Cooking Class in Sorrento!
The tour will start at the workshop of Chef Carmen. Carmen is a star in Sorrento, as her cooking class combines quality and fun! The class will take place in a large kitchen space, specially designed for groups. All the dishes are prepared with fresh local ingredients and are based on classic recipes.
The three-hour class is followed by lunch: you will share and enjoy the food you cook! Menus are composed of antipasto, fresh pasta, either fish or meat as a second course, and dessert. Meals are accompanied by wine, water, and, of course, the first taste of limoncello.
You will work on authentic and traditional dishes from Campania, that have been handed down for many generations. Some example? The famous handmade Gnocchi alla Sorrentina, with basil, tomato, and mozzarella. Pasta alla Nerano, with fried zucchini and Provolone cheese. Or “Acqua Pazza” seabass, cooked in wine, olive oil, parsley, garlic, and fresh cherry tomatoes…
Sorrento walking tour
Following lunch, and coffee, our guide will walk you through the alleys of Sorrento for a deep dive into the town’s best spots.
First, we will head to Piazza Torquato Tasso, where the famous poet Tasso was born. We will visit the Basilica of Saint Antonino. Apparently, the much-loved saint performed numerous miracles, including one in which he rescued a child from a whale’s stomach.
The next stop will be at Piazza Della Loggia, where you can admire the Nobles, Council known as Sedile Dominova, and visit the Gothic cathedral, with masterpieces of the Renaissance and the Baroque periods.
There will then be time for the best views of Sorrento, of course, over the cliffs and over the valley of the Mills. Finally, we will walk through Corso Italia, the main shopping street of Sorrento.
Walking through Corso Italia we suggest tasting Limoncello and Limoncello cookies in the best shops of Sorrento! If you are using one of our transfers, you will have 45 more minutes to enjoy the town by yourself before meeting your driver in Piazza Tasso.
